FAQs

🧾 Are You Licensed to Sell Ants?

Yes — AntopiaUSA is fully licensed, and USDA-APHIS approved for the legal sale and interstate shipment of ants. All of our species are distributed in accordance with current federal and state regulations and will include valid copies of shipping permits for your records.

If you'd like to view our current USDA permits or have compliance questions, feel free to contact us directly at antopiausa@gmail.com.

📍 What States Can You Ship Ants To?

Our USDA-APHIS permits allow us to ship live ants to many states across the U.S.
However, shipping eligibility varies by species, based on ecological regulations.

Please carefully review the product description for each species to see which states are approved for shipping and sales. If the species you ordered cannot legally ship to your state, we may substitute a comparable species of equal or greater value that we are approved to ship to your location, at our discretion. If we have no suitable substitute, your order is canceled and refunded minus a 15% restocking fee.

How do I track my order?

A tracking email is sent automatically the moment your shipping label is created. It sometimes lands in spam, so check there first.

How long before my order ships?

Live ants ship Monday through Wednesday only. Orders placed after 7 PM Central on Wednesday ship the following Monday through Wednesday. During peak season the most that should pass before your order ships is 5 to 7 days; in slower months it is typically 2 to 3 days. Overnight orders ship Monday through Thursday. If it has been more than 7 days since you ordered, email us with your order number.

Can I change my shipping address or hold my order?

Email us before your order ships. Once a label has been created we cannot reroute a live shipment.

Do you accept returns?

We do not accept returns on live ants or on nests. Once a colony or a nest leaves our facility it cannot re-enter our stock. This is a biosecurity requirement.

⚠️ USDA Compliance Notice – Ant Disposal & Handling Requirements

The ants you have received were shipped by a permitted commercial supplier and are subject to strict regulations under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA-APHIS) for educational and research use only in your state. Please Follow These Guidelines:

Do not share or distribute these ants to others under any circumstances
Do not release the ants into the wild — this is a serious violation of federal regulations
• When you are finished keeping your ants, you must dispose of them properly using one of the following USDA-approved methods:
